P2 Effective communication

Effective Communication

  • General communication
  • interpersonal skills
  • writing skills

2 for each subject

Interpersonal Skills

Interpersonal skills come into effect when you start to talk to someone face to face. To be effective at this type of communication you have to be clear with your voice. Sometimes you have to show a positive expression when you are talking to a professional or someone you need to impress to get something you want.

General Skills

General skills will come into effect during general life. When you are having a general conversation your body language might show a different feeling you have rather than the one you are trying to show. For example if you are fed up walking in th rain and a friend comes along but you want to get home, your body language will show that yor don't want to talk to them but your feeling you are trying to show will be "hi friend I don't mind talking to you in this weather". Being effective at general communication is also improving your interpersonal and written skills as they are also involved in general communication for example writing a letter to a person or doing a video chat.

Written Skills

Written skills will come into effect when it comes to writing on paper or typing up something. Being effective at your writing skills are important because this will effect whether (your reader or the person you are talking to) can read your writing. To be effective with your writing skills you have to make sure that your grammar, punctuation and spelling are ok. You need to have readable handwriting. Depending on what you are writing on is also crucial as if you are writing a formal letter then you have to write formally to be effective. Your target audience also count as you don't want to use complex language for little kids and childish sentences for adults as choosing the right sentence with the right audience is very effective.
